Quick & Easy Self Guide for your PLDT MYDSL INSTALLATION

Make sure that your Local Area Connection settings are correct.
• Click on NETWORK CONNECTIONS
• Right click on LOCAL AREA CONNECTION
• Select PROPERTIES.
The TCP/IP properties should be set to “Obtain IP Address Automatically” and “Obtain DNS Address Automatically”.

To start with;

TIP 1If you don’t hear any dial tone, hear static or noise from your landline, Call 173.

TIP 2Make sure your modem is connected to both your PC/Laptop and phone line.

TIP 3Set-up is color coded and cables should fit snugly into the right port. Make sure there are no loose connections.

TIP 4You can also try re-setting your modem. Turn your PC and modem off. Next, turn the modem on and wait for a few minutes after the modem’s POWER, ETHERNET and DSL lights have turned green before turning on the PC again.

TIP 5If you have an extension phone, make sure you use a microfilter to ensure the quality of your phone and DSL line.

TIP 6Your residential DSL plan is best experienced with a single PC only. Sharing with other PCs may cause slowdown. Make sure it’s virus - free and delete unnecessary files to free up the memory. Recommended RAM is at least 256 kbps.

TIP 7If you experience slowdown in a particular website, try to visit other websites and compare the experience. The website you re accessing might just be congested.

Tips for your PC and modem

To ensure the quality of DSL service, make sure you do the following:
Provide your computer and your DSL modem with an Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) to avoid possible damage to equipment caused by sudden power voltage fluctuation.
Place your PC and DSL modem in an area with proper ventilation to avoid overheating.
Make sure to install your high-speed and high resolution printer/fax away from the modem to avoid interference.
