The PLDT Call All Service Bundle combines a PLDT Wired postpaid landline and a PLDT landline Plus SIM 2nd line, all for only P850/month.

The first and only free local call service to your home zone
from anywhere in the country.

PLDT Call All bundle — a wireless landline extension where subscribers can call anywhere in the Philippines. This promo is available to existing PLDT residential landline subscribers for an additional fixed monthly charge of Php250.

The bundle adds a PLDT Landline Plus (PLP) SIM card which can be used with any openline handset and serves as an extension of the fixed landline. What makes the PLDT Call All promo more expansive is that the mobile phone with the PLP SIM-card can be taken anywhere in the Philippines and still be able to call any landline number in its local area.

So if you have a fixed landline in Metro Manila (02), you can apply for an extension Call All SIM and carry it around in your mobile phone as a wireless landline. You can bring the mobile phone to Zamboanga or Iloilo and still be able to call any number in Metro Manila for free (and at the same time, be able to receive calls from landline with area code 02).

Globe launched their Duo service last month for an additional Php399/month but only allows for mobile calls as long as the phone is within the Metro Manila area. In essence, the PLDT Call All has much wider coverage.

The PLDT Call All Service Bundle combines a PLDT Wired postpaid landline and a PLDT landline Plus SIM 2nd line, all for only P850/month.

Yes, there is a 2 year lock-in period for the PLDT Call All service bundle.
Comment to those interested in getting the PLDT Call All Promo, think twice and better read the agreement they will ask you to sign kasi what I understand from it eh may minimum of 2 year lock-in period, wherein you’ll be ask to pay pre-termination fee of P2500 for each Call All Service Bundle (Landline Post paid + wireless sim) or P5000 for the two lines and if you have mydsl additional P 2500 or a total of P7500 pre-termination fee in case you opt to discontinue the service under 2 years or after every renewal. Here’s the catch ng PLDT…. after completing the minimum 2 year lock in period, it will automatically renew your contract every two years. so tali ka na nman sa contract at laging may lock-in period n 2 years, in effect laging may pte-termination fee of 5000 or 7500 dpending on your service bundle. Unlike other TELCOS, after the lock-in period malaya ka na to continue or discontinue the service, but with this PLDT Call All Service, mukhang forever kang matatali sa every 2 years na contract.

Application for subscription to the Call All Service Bundle is from May 24 to just advertised in newspaper today full page ads so the promo is still effective.

All those who subscribed within the promo period will continue to enjoy the bundle rate of P 850/month and the service feature of Call All (i.e., unlimited local calls from anywhere in the country), as long as subscription is not terminated within the lock-in period.

If you subscribed to a PLP 2nd Line prior to MAy 24, your subscription will automatically be adjusted so you can enjoy the bundle rate of P 850/month plus unlimited free calls to your home zone from anywhere in the country.

I think even if you have an on-going contract with pldt re: dsl plan 999, you can still avail of their call all promo, what i understand is that the new lock-in period for the call all promo will supersede your existing lock-in period for dsl 999.

PLDT launches novel landline call service
MANILA, Philippines—Local telecommunications giant Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. seeks to boost its cash flow from the fixed-line phone business—overshadowed by the fast growth of wireless phone usage over the years—with the pioneering offering of an unlimited nationwide landline call service for residential subscribers.
For an additional fixed monthly charge of P250 for post-paid residential landline subscribers, the PLDT “Call All” bundle provides a second line SIM (PLDT Landline Plus) which can be used in any open line handset, allowing users to make free local calls to any landline number in the same calling area.

Top PLDT officials explained that the service is like having an extension line that the user can bring anywhere in the Philippines and use to call any landline in its home area. The offer thus seeks to edge out the hybrid wireless-landline offerings of major competitors (which offer unlimited calls only within the same coverage area) by providing free calls even when the handset is brought outside the area code of the registered fixed line. This is for as long as the call is made to any landline within its area code.

For instance, a Manila subscriber can bring his wireless extension line to Cebu and call his family or friends in Manila for free. With the additional fee of P250 a month, the service thus comes all in at a price of P850 a month. It effectively waives the metering for national direct dialing (NDD) for calls made using the second SIM to its local area, making landline calls more affordable.

“We would like to make the landline as relevant as possible. Because of trends in communications, wireless is becoming more dominant,” PLDT head of retail business group Dan Ibarra said in an interview during yesterday’s product launch.

NDD charges will still apply if the fixed line registered under “Call All” service or its wireless extension is used to call cellular phones or landline numbers outside its home area.

Ibarra said the innovation, which sought to offer clear and reliable voice call and text messaging service, would leverage on PLDT’s 1.3 million household subscriber base. He added that this would be a new area of growth for the landline segment aside from the booming data or broadband (DSL) business.

The landline business accounts for only about 20 percent of the PLDT group’s business, while wireless operated by Smart Communications and Pilipino Telephone Corp. contribute 80 percent.  Original article here http://business.inquirer.net/money/topstories/view/20090603-208669/PLDT-launches-novel-landline-call-service
